Its been two weeks when Steve Jobs proudly claimed the new MacBook Air to be the world’s thinnest laptop. Fair enough… but you certainly have to ship your $1800 without optical rom, thin lapy to your customers Mr Steve. As per the computerworld research, they found resellers sitting on their hands if were asked for the MacBook air. A salesman from Manhattan said “We haven’t gotten our filthy little hands on them yet”

The worst fear may come true as Apple officially delayed Apple TV software updates which were supposed to be out yesterday. i-e 30th Jan. The automatic updates would now be available for free with in 2 weeks (lets hope for the good)

Anne Wojcicki the wife of one of the Google’s mastermind showed up her intentions at Davos World Economic Forum. Now they planing to serp for human DNA (lol).. “You have to have high standards to get anywhere in life, and if genealogy continues at its current rate, what we’re offering will soon become a standard part of people’s lives.” (yeahh.. ). 23andme, the bio tech company she owns, receives saliva from its customers (bahahaha) along with a check of $999 and the customers receives their DNA scan results in about 4 to 6 weeks. if i had been any journalist at Davos, i wouldve certainly asked her if any of the google employee working on siemen receiving and delivering full fledge babies right at the person’s door step?

Now i may sound like making fun of em but seriously speaking, people with innovative minds like these can do almost anything you can imagine. Google inc, which revolutionized internet searching and online marketing is certainly opening more doors for students like me.

It seems Rapidshare has been shut down. Not quite sure, but it seem to be like this.. will confirm it as soon as some official word comes in.

Here comes the (some what) official word, an extract from wikipedia states

On 19 January 2007, news broke that German collections agency GEMA had claimed to have won a temporary injunction against both RapidShare.de and RapidShare.com. “The latter is said to have used copyright protected works of GEMA members in an unlawful fashion,”.[4] To date RapidShare has claimed not to have any knowledge of the content uploaded by the users and of not being in a position to control the content. Through its injunctions the District Court in Cologne had now however made it clear to the company that the fact that it was the users and not the operator of the services that uploaded the content onto the sites did not, from a legal point of view, lessen the operator’s liability for copyright infringements that occurred within the context of the services, the spokesman added. Currently rapidshare is not working.

Both RapidShare.de and RapidShare.com sites are currently still operating and the consequences, if any, of the claimed injunction have yet to be seen. So far, they have not been sued.

On the other hand, rapidshare.de which is said to run from servers located in Switzerland is working just fine
