Well, i am totally against discussing religion on internet in the first place as in here where you can’t express your point to the full. But rubbish on sites like yahoo as i mentioned compel me to do so.
and into reply to the reporter, author, editor, may i say;
What the hell is God damn problem with you if Saudi police cracks down on people abiding local law? There are hell lot of people detained for breaking law in their country, i never saw a yahoo news report that states a group of youngsters caught for driving fast at Chicago or Kentucky. Its just that you, (yahoo) try to shout out loud, “hey, look at Muslims.. they hate flirting.. hahaha.. so much conservative they are” I’m not defending Muslims or Christians or any other religion but the point is, why are you placing such a minor news on your main page which nobody is interested in other than those who want to find out some ugly logics to support their shameless propaganda against any particular religious belief.
The bottom line i must say, is. Muslims shouldn’t mention a minor news report of “total number of gays in newyork” or headlining a chapter of Bible. Christians shouldn’t highlight a Muslim belief.. and ya.. Yahoo shouldn’t place shit like “Saudi police crack down on flirting in Mecca” on their main page.. Again, just don’t discuss anything religious.. you have anything to say? say nice and good which is beneficial for others, else shut the hell up !

All media is the same in the Western part of the world, they will print something like that because we are quite relaxed here and countries that follow Islam are very stern and strict with their laws and way of life.
Such as the British lady in Sudan who was arrested and almost flogged for allowing one of her pupils to name a teddy bear after another child who just happened to be called Mohammed.
And in Saudi Arabia a woman who was gangraped ended up in prison because she was in a car with men who were not related to her.
We don’t see this sort of thing in the UK or America which is why our media goes bonkers about it all the time it is seen as barbaric.
A friend of mine once said to me that if you get rid of all relgion then the world would be a more peaceful place as most of the wars and trouble are caused by religions.
I’ll disagree on the first part. West isn’t that relax in terms of social life if compared with the East. Not disagreeing much for UK. I got one link in my favorites

the article is old but anybody can expect the exponential rate.
The two cases you mentioned are certainly related to something i said. All i was saying is why to highlight such stuff in the first place? Sudan, Saudis got their own territory, their own law why wont we let them handle any such thing their own way. Why we always impose our thoughts over others?

Never wanted to place the links and hurt any friend from US. But just to clarify that we DO see this sort of thing in UK or America. Its coz we turn a blind eye to something we feel embarrassing to us.
What my point of view is, if somebody gang rapes 16 year girl in US, no Muslim paper should EVER highlight this on title page and clear obstacles in between clash of civilizations. Let US handle such according to their own law. For Sudan, Saudis.. let them govern each one of em in their own way even if we don’t like it.
Getting rid of religion in real world is now impossible. 2008 years has already been spent. But virtual world of internet should remain clear from this.
