For all those who are just trying to show the world and Facebook that they love Hazrat Muhammad (saw) by ‘celebrating’ 20th May. You are just making the cartoons, their makers more significant.. If you didn’t like the thing, ignore it instead of showing the world that the cartoons mean a lot to you. You ‘celebrate’ this damn day, and they will publish dozen more in newspaper on 21sth May and go to their coffee table laughing “let us see these dogs bark”, and your cheap personality wont be able to do a thing about that.
I got a few questions for you dumb ass community owners and so called Facebook protesters.
- What if it really becomes a trend to have a 20th may as “P*r*o*p*h*e*t C*a*r*t*o*o*n d*a*y” (Nauzu Billah, i didn’t want to say that but its important to make you dumb asses wake up) wont that be more defamatory to the Prophet?
- Do you really think the greatest personality of Muhammad (saw) can be defamed by few pencil sketches?
- Have you ever spoken to some non-Muslim about it and tried to reason instead of running stupid campaigns?
- There are hundreds of thousands of web pages containing images you guys referring to, including Wikipedia page for Muhammad (saw), how many you think you can block?

If you are really serious about it why not delete your account to show real protest han? I agree to ur post. we have to act wisely to this and not make 20th may anything special. We already have a Mohammad Day and we dont need to make another one just to prove to the sick bastards.
However, we need DO need to respond in some decent way because I have seen many neutral people support this movement calling it "original and creative" … they are like "too bad muslims wont allow it, but it wud have been real fun if we cud do it" … this is wat bugs me … there are alarming number of people, who think of this as FREEDOM OF SPEECH … I wonder the Americans call themseleves the most civilized, but they have no respect for others beliefs … WTF ! if u dont believe in Islam, dont but freedom of speech dosent give any1 the right to abuse someones feelings, both religious and non-religious … just one example, no one dares to say anything about BLACK people … they even avoid saying BLACK cuz the blacks fuckem up if they try to …. they can make a naked Jesus but they cant say anything in the media abt black people and stuff …. so the excuse we make fun of jesus too, is not valid … they dun care abt religion otherwise every1 wud have read bible atleast once …
by the way, in one of the states of US, they are tying to lift police charges if someone SWEARS at another person … the lawyer behind this movement calls it FREEDOM OF SPEECH too … this makes the definition of being civilized quite unclear, to me atleast ….

We know that greatest personality of Muhammad (saw) cannot be defamed by few pencil sketches but if one thing is wrong n u can say it wrong than u should say or do something that u could(according to one hadith of Prophet (S.A.W): if u see something bad/wrond happening, stop it with ur hand…if u cant do it that way then stop it with ur tongue, if u even cant do that then Say it bad in ur heart!! Here as u can do something n do at ur part.

I totally agree! There are less pages for "draw prophet day" (NAOUZZABILLAH) than the pages against it. what does that show? We are actually making our prophet's fun ourselves. For God sake stop joining these groups and promoting the concept. Just report the actual page and write to the administration of facebook. You cannot stop this activity by making hundreds of groups against.
The only way we got to know about it is through these groups and event pages made against it. when i searched the actual page, it was hard to find that page coz there were hundreds of pages against it. whereas i could only find 2 pages of the actual event.

why dont muslims just 'do' something by simply doing 'report abuse' at that event page, and writing to the facebook administration. I am sure if those millions of muslims who are joining this group, report abuse and write to the administration, and tell them that they are directly insulting us, then I am sure facebook admins will take an action. I totally agree with the comments. A protest will not achieve anything. The best way is to ignore it and I agree with the guy that If we continue to protest this day. It may become a celebration day for the michieve makers. Farukh and Barira you really need to get a reality check. Havn't you heard Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt. So my friends protests have never ever achieved much in the current environment take britain for example. A million march was conducted before the IRAQ war 1 million protesters out on streets did it change anything nothing.
Instead we as a muslim community can make dua for the person who started the whole idea to get hidaya and Allah willing if he gets it that will be more amazing than what anyone of us has done so far inshallah!

Sarmad my friend, they first made the cartoons in 2005 i think. What did we do ? i know i did'nt do anything. I thought what the hell, who reads the damn danish newspaper in Pakistan. And i think most of the Islamic communities did nothing. Did we stop using danish products? no we did not. Yes i am talking about people like you who are always telling others to roll with the situation. Let them make cartoons as if it is not a big deal, and they will continue to do so. then they will make movies and cartoon plays and the younger generation will consider it a norm and then humour and will laugh at it. You my friend have no idea about the consequences. If you dont wanna be a part then atleast keep your mouth shut instead of being one of those people who live abroad and tell their friends that its okay to eat haram chicken since there is no other option available.! there is always an option…..
@ Fatima , the report using thing… i have been doing it since the last one week. Plus who ever has tried to message facebook admins have been banned. I have seen the page "Ullo ka Phata" dedicated to Mr. Zardari disappear many many times. Facebook admins take action only when they want to . i think there are more people reporting the cartoon page as abusive then those finding ullo ka phatta as an abusive page. Sarmad i do agree with you to the extent that yes those protesting should indeed quit facebook and cut them off some revenue.
I do not agree with the the ignoring bit. you can't possibly expect Muslims to remain quiet about this issue and ignore it like it means absolutely nothing. Something HAS to be done, but in a proper manner. "Boycotting" facebook is not the answer ofcourse, because that makes no damn difference. We need to respond to these people rationally, with proper arguments.

We all should email International News papers and Channels to report this internationally and FACEBOOK is not talking any step stopping it.. Its simple and easy.. we all gather email ids and mail them to report such event..
All friends search and post Email Ids of as many News papers and Channels ids as u people can and we all mail them daily at least once..

You make a valid point, disabling ones account won't do much, there's a time for practicality and the 20th is the perfect opportunity.
Either there can be a dialogue to make the creators understand that it's discriminatory to our belief's or people can post calligraphy, neutralizing the situation. Sadequain's paintings could be posted, I'm just throwing around ideas. I believe that a peaceful dialogue could work.

a) Write to the administration and record your protest that way.
b) No Reason 'Celebrating' that day.
c) Starting countless campaigns won't help, one peaceful group with check and balance by admins is good enough.

this is a definitional sentence which tells us what it takes to be a believer: preferring the prophet even to one's own life. in confirmation of this the prophet is reported in hadith to have said:
"none of you becomes a believer until i am dearer to him than his children, his parents and all mankind." (as reported by bukhari and muslim) some versions add: "his life, his wealth and his family".
i know you must have read this before too, but i invite you to read it again and give it a brief thought. we’re supposed to surrender ourselves, sacrifice our lives and still we can’t pay back even 0.1% of what we’ve got being a muslim.

No there are no bugs, your comment was probably too long so it was detected as a spam. No comment (not even 1) has been or will ever be deleted / changed / moderated by myself. I think the writer is very right! I agree who are we fooling? we feel that boycotting and protesting actually makes a difference? zilch! its a hype which will die pretty soon and then again another cartoonist will stand up and create another hype!
Th real thing to do is what scares us…picking up quran and sunnah and reading it! Please stop waiting for fatwas..Allah speaks to all of us through quran…its just about picking it up and giving it time…when our heart will open up Allah will make us understand everything.
We disrespect our prophet much more by only saying his name with respect…the true respect is to follow someone, is to do what He tells us to do..That we dont want to..protests are easy to do and fun, so lets do it, but reading quran and following sunnah requires so many sacrifices, so i guess leave it to the poor maulvis who do not even have proper brains to contemplate the beauty of quran.

Many of you already know that a site generates it’s revenue bceause of impression (visits). People who deny this logic are afraid of losing their contacts. That contacts who are actually can be called as “garbage friends”. Because it is estimated that a 70% of your friends on facebook are those who never bothor to contact you through conventional means. And you cannot sacrifice your account for those dumb asses, who donot even care about you. And yet you say that you are a muslim.

Once a man was imprisoned (a muslim). He was not allowed to go outside even for a prayer. But he used to prepare himself regularly as though he would attend the Friday prayer (Namaz-e-Jumma), and go to the door knowing that he would not be allowed to leave. And guard used to stop him. His fellows asked him, why do you do that. He replied that, I know that I will not be allowed to leave, but I am doing what is in my control.

we are internet professionals. Not just casual users of Facebook, we MAKE INTERNET WORK. Sarmad is working in the internet industry, so am I. And we know very well that such protests are not going to help. No one even knew about these events until Muslims themselves hyped it all up. This self generated hype, bad comments and abuses made it worse. We just made ourselves look bad.
The hadiths that claim prophet has to be the dearest of all, dosent mean u shud slit the throat of some one. Such hadiths have been manipulated by religious extremists.
Let the dogs bark, such dogs have barked throughout history. I am not seeing these cartoons for the first time. Such campaigns have always died on their own. But this time, some religious extremist got successful to piss off other muslims and added fuel to the fire. No one would have cared if we had kept our cool. USE YOUR MIND !!! act like mature people, not like illiterate people. I am not happy with what they are doing. But then there have been athiests and anti-muslims since the beginning of Islam. You cant just go and KILL someone.
Remember, Muhammad SAW was tortured himself in his times, but he forgave everyone and showed tolerance. So, follow his footsteps, dont get urself dirty with these few people. There are only a few thousand of them. There are 6.7 billion people in this world so damn a few thousand, Allah will treat them over the course of time.

what if some1 abuse ur father or mother…..is this freedom of speech….wil u spare him by just ignoring him……is that the repect u have got for ur parents by ignoring a guy who is abusing ur parents……as a muslim i beleive that Prophet PBUH is far more superior personality than our parents…..he was the one who is loved by the God himself…..and what we r doing is ignoring them by just saying barking dogs seldom bites……cumon!!!
when i was a kid i was taught in islamiat that if something going wrong infront of u….
protest it with ur hands, if not than with ur money, if not then with ur mouth and if even cant u do that than think of it as a bad in ur heart and thats the weakest part of ur faith….
I won't make an FB display pic saying 'stop abusing our parents', there are other ways to deal with it. check related posts and you will find a couple of good solutions to the problem

I surely respect the comment. The problem with urdu speakers (Urdu is my mother tongue too) remain that they transliterate everything in their mind, what they read in other language (in this case English). Seriously, what you reading is not offensive at all if you used to english in your daily routine. Secondly, there are lot of things said when you really want to dig deep in a controversial thing. The point is how tolerant you can be in accepting the criticism by not calling somebody non-muslim over few words which are often regarded as slangs rather than abuse.
I dont fall atrap in convs generally but this was becoming a regular thing so had to explain. The posting will remain untouched and unedited just like every regular, genuine comment posted by visitors.

There are different ways to receive perspectives. Id takes the overall sense of writer's point of view, somebody else would pick up couple of slangs from the post to aurgue on that.
I'll speak a language cleaner than the cleanest when Iam formal. I am never formal writing something at personal blog, nor I am a scholor.
The lang is clean enough even for the most formals to comment back without fearing of being mis treated.
The whole thing can be swept away stating, you have a better personality than mine !

By the way, I really do not think what has been said is a bigger crime as compared to the literate guys still liking, joining "against everybody draw" and literally promoting the whole thing. As a non muslim I think that to boycott facebook would be futile. I think that to try and stop those individuals that draw images that have and are causing this pain, need to be educateted. It would only be the ignorant and small minded that would continue to keep drawing these picture once educated why it is wrong to do so in the Muslim faith.
Just my thought on this subject.

I agree with your approach. Reporting it should work, and would not be fuel to the fire of ignorant people. There will always be those who wish to go to extremes, they should be left alone to suffer in their own misery and hate. As for Farrukh, have you ever tried to talk to non Muslim friends, I doubt it. You do not seem the type to sit and have an intelligent conversation so much as join the crowd in bias and hatred, furthering those with foolish beliefs and hearts full of fear of what it is they do not know.

1. I agree on the point that sometimes ignoring some baseless stupidities is the best way to kill them. I understand the rationale and I have a lot of such examples. This game was played not to test our belonging with Prophet PBUH but to prove that we are conservative and violent. The 3rd party only ignited a small flame while our ignorance made it a fire in the forest.
2. Some ppl got the idea, they just ignited >> Muslim reacted >> other non Muslims got horrified and reacted >> then some other Muslims reacted against Muslim's reaction and it includes friends like you. You reacted in the same way, with half wisdom and half ignorance.
You point is somehow valid, but unfortunately your style is no different than those who did the blasphemy or those who reacted ignorantly. You do understand that the disrespect hurt people, I do understand that Muslim should treat this wisely, with their hateful protest, some of them promoted the issue. But your response is lesser justified then protest by the redneck a**.
